Oxford Clinic Hospital FAQ

Admission

How long will the procedure take?

This can vary widely depending on the type of procedure you are having and the type of anaesthetic or sedation used.  The Admissions Nurse will be able to give you an estimated time when you arrive.

What is the expected time lapse between my reporting time and my procedure time?

Your arrival time is usually 15 – 30 minutes prior to your procedure or surgery to allow time for the Admissions Nurse to assess your individual needs and carry out any preparation required.

Will I be notified if there is a delay with the commencement of my procedure?

If we have advanced notice of delays you will be notified prior to your admission and your reporting time adjusted.  If delays occur after your arrival, the Admissions Nurse will keep you informed of these and make sure you are comfortable whilst awaiting your procedure.

Can I use my mobile phone whilst in hospital?

Mobile phones should be switched off at the time of your admission and must not be used in the Recovery area due to interference with medical equipment.
You are welcome to use your phone in Hospital Reception area and overnight suites, however, we would request that you set your ring tone to vibrate or silent so as not to disturb other patients.
